Foundry Church to build in Castle Pines

Foundry Church (Foundry) has purchased 4.3 acres of land adjacent to Elk Ridge Park and American Academy – Castle Pines charter school with plans to build a 14,000-square foot facility. This will be the first church to be built in the city limits. (Journey Church is in an unincorporated part of Castle Pines, north of Castle Pines Parkway).

“We are so excited to put down roots with property and a building; it has been a long time coming,” said lead Pastor Tim Salters, who has been with Foundry since 2017.

The vision is to build a church but also incorporate everyday uses for the facility, including a preschool, daycare and after school space, in addition to Sunday services. Foundry has partnered with Lionheart Children’s Academy, a Christian nonprofit that teams up with churches to begin and operate academies in existing church facilities.

Foundry has launched a two-year capital campaign, Building for More, to raise the initial funds needed to begin the construction; the goal is approximately $1.6 million. Salters added that there will be many variables before the hopeful 2026 groundbreaking: construction costs, interest rates and the City of Castle Pines approval of the plans.

Foundry Church began 25 years ago as Castle Pines Community Church and has met in several local venues: first, the Castle Pines Community Center (which is now the Castle Pines North Metro District office), Buffalo Ridge Elementary School, a space in the King Soopers shopping center (which is now Pines Sports Bar & Grill) and is currently at DCS Montessori.

“We ultimately want the building and property to be used for a meeting space for the community,” concluded Salters. “Foundry is here to stay, and we want everyone here to be blessed by our future building and commitment to Castle Pines.” For more information, visit foundry.church.
