A new neighborhood proposed in Lone Tree

Development is being proposed west of I-25 in Lone Tree for a new subdivision called Hillcamp Subdivision or the Mesa Tops project, with a plan to build 343 homes. Brookfield Residential and RidgeGate Investments, Inc. have applied to the City of Lone Tree to build a large single-family neighborhood totaling 400 acres split across two planning areas.

The RidgeGate portion would cover 221 acres with 261 single family detached homes. The Southridge portion would be 171 acres and add 82 single family homes. Along with the homes, there would be a nearly three-acre private amenity center, internal roads, drainage systems and seven stormwater detention ponds.

According to documents provided to the City of Lone Tree in the application process, the plan is to access this new neighborhood with a new street, Hillcamp Drive, which would extend existing Cabela Drive and connect traffic from RidgeGate Parkway through current City of Lone Tree open space areas.

The development plans include more than 100 acres of community open space that ties into the Douglas County East/West Regional Trail. The current site is undeveloped open grassland that forms part of the Bluffs Regional Park Trail (Bluffs), on the western edge of Lone Tree, directly south of Cabela Drive stretching west and south toward the Bluffs.

The development is still in the early stages. To learn more about the project, contact the Lone Tree Planning Commission at cityoflonetree.com. A resource we found to be helpful was the “Development Docs Dropbox” link on savethebluffs.com.
