On August 22, neighbors gathered at the Village Shops for an evening celebrating great wines and even better conversation. In its ninth year, Vino in the Village, the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce’s signature event, has sold out multiple years in a row; this year was no exception.

Party In the Park

From amusement park rides to live music, this year’s Party in the Park was one for the books. On August 23, neighbors came together at Elk Ridge Park to close out the summer with a night of celebration. The annual event is organized by the City of Castle Pines and has become a neighborhood favorite.

Food Truck Frenzy

The weather was perfect for the Food Truck Frenzy that took place on Saturday, June 7 at Coyote Ridge Park. While enjoying live music from the band Fireball Daddy, friends and families had more than a dozen food trucks on-site to choose from. Face painting and inflatable slides were hits with the kids and many local businesses gave away swag and prizes.

The Village Castle Pines Garden Club (VCPGC) Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon was a huge success on Friday, May 16. Eighty-nine members joined at the Hilton Denver Inverness for this grand finale of the fiscal year.

The Happy Crew opens coffee house

On Friday, March 1, Happy Crew nonprofit, which since 2007 has been showing teens they matter and belong, held an open house to launch its new coffee house concept upstairs from the Business Foundry in Lone Tree. The idea is simple but profound: great coffee and good work can help create better support for local teens. Happy Crew teens, their families, Happy Crew board of directors, volunteers and community members joined to celebrate the milestone.

Rock of Hope Gala

The Rock of Hope Gala, a charity event benefitting cancer care in Castle Rock, was a stunning showing of compassionate, activated and generous guests. The charity event raised nearly $240,000 to support bringing expert cancer care to AdventHealth Castle Rock.

Farewell party for former MiYO owners

In January, more than 100 friends and loyal MiYO customers gathered to say goodbye to Gary and Donna Stern and to welcome new owners Janet Kweon and Hoon Jung. The original founders of MiYO, Dan and Nannette Park–who first opened the restaurant in 2009–were in attendence as well. Unfortunately, due to illness, Donna was unable to attend.
