C-DOT Metering Study Underway

by Lisa Crockett

A traffic meter has been installed at the Castle Pines Parkway/I-25 Interchange. The Colorado Department of Transportation (C-DOT) is conducting the study to determine whether or not a metering light is needed at the location to ease traffic congestion.

“We will be gathering data for the next few months, then looking at those numbers to make a decision on metering lights,” said O.J. Abiakam, the project engineer for the study. “The study is scheduled to conclude at the end of April. If we determine lights are needed, we will work to make that happen.”

C-DOT is looking at the possibility of metering lights at several interchanges in Douglas County on the I-25 corridor in connection with this study.
