A birthday party a century in the making

With the help of some local businesses and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Independent Financial in Castle Pines threw Jeanne the birthday party of a lifetime. January 4 – Jeanne’s actual birthday – was a day of celebration for everyone.

Sheriff Darren Weekly swore Jeanne in as an honorary deputy and she was surrounded by family and friends – some who drove in from out of town and even flew in from out of state.

Jeanne beamed in her crown and sash as the crowd sang her “Happy Birthday.”
