Castle Rock library has a new name

The new Douglas County Library (DCL) in Castle Rock that opened in August has a new name: The Philip and Jerry Miller Library.

According to a DCL resolution to change the name, the Millers helped establish the original library services in Douglas County and Castle Rock through their joint “leadership, foresight and financial support.”

In 1980, the Castle Rock DCL was named the Philip S. Miller Library.

The new name also includes Jerry’s to honor her part in establishing the library.

Today, the Miller Trust continues to support many philanthropies in Douglas County, including an annual donation to DCL.
