Community garage sale is back
The Castle Pines community garage sale is a popular event that residents look forward to every year. While there is no longer a “sponsor” of the event, anyone who is considering hosting a garage sale this summer is encouraged to join with your neighbors and to host it on the weekend of Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31.
As was the case last year, the Castle Pines Connection website will host a free online sign-up before the garage sale so that potential shoppers can see what homes are participating, and you can see which of your neighbors are joining in as well.
Additionally, kids are encouraged to set up lemonade stands or booths with baked goods, which can be added to the digital map at no cost as well. The map will help people find your treasures and will be active starting in May. Remember, this event is for you, by you.
If you find yourself with items left over after the sale, HOA1 is hosting a Donation and Shred Event (sponsored by Gary Leiker of REMAX Professionals). Bring up to four boxes of paper to be securely shredded and recycled. All paper is accepted and can include staples or other metal such as hanging folders, as well spiral notebooks; but no three-ring binders.
There will also be an ARC Thrift Store truck at the clubhouse for donations of usable furniture, clothing, shoes, books, toys, kitchen items, and household goods. ARC cannot accept baby walkers, playpens, strollers, baby swings, child car seats or cribs; building, landscaping or construction materials; lighting; kitchen appliances; carpet; electronic equipment; glass (sheets of glass, bottles, etc.); hangers; or mattresses or box springs. For more information, visit arcthrift.com/donations.
Drop off leftover items on Saturday, May 31, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Association Clubhouse, 7233 Tenby Way.
