Slash and mulch site open

Beginning Friday, April 3, slash-mulch and green yard waste services will operate at a new location: 5675 Delva Way in Sedalia. Regular hours are Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 31. For the first two weeks, the site will be open on Fridays as well—April 3 and 10.
The slash-mulch and green yard waste site is for Douglas County residents only. The previous slash-mulch site in Castle Rock is no longer in operation.
In the future, this new location will serve as a convenient one-stop shop for slash-mulch, green yard waste, electronics recycling, hazardous household waste disposal and Douglas County’s upcoming biochar facility.
In 2025, Douglas County residents helped convert 32,841 cubic yards of tree limbs and yard debris into mulch—roughly the volume of 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

A County-operated loader will be available to load free wood chips for homeowners to use as mulch, when available.
