Studio Pilates Castle Pines

Stretch to align, breathe in energy

What if your workout studio felt like a true community—one built on encouragement, respect and a shared commitment to strength and well-being? According to owner Robin Tuck, that is exactly what members discover at Studio Pilates Castle Pines.

Pilates is a mind-body exercise method developed in the early 20th century by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates. Influenced by his gymnast father and naturopath mother, Pilates originally called his method Contrology. The practice emphasizes controlled, repetitive movements—about 50 foundational exercises—designed to build strength, flexibility and awareness. Each movement is guided by five essential principles: breath, cervical alignment, rib and scapular stabilization, pelvic mobility, and engagement of the abdominal muscles.

Over the years, Pilates has evolved and can now be practiced on a mat or on specialized equipment known as reformers. These spring-based resistance machines feature a sliding platform, pulleys, straps and springs that support proper spinal alignment while targeting specific muscle groups.

A Florida native who moved to Colorado in 2008, Robin was an avid Pilates student who believed if you move your body, you change your mindset. Like most, Robin was frustrated with being waitlisted for classes at local studios. During a vacation in South America, Robin met a physical therapist on the cruise with two Pilates’ studios in Chile. When posed with the question “Why don’t you open your own Pilates studio?,” Robin began researching the possibility of being an entrepreneur.

With mostly a corporate background, Robin knew she needed operational support, and the idea of an established business was the perfect answer to her dream. Seven months later, Robin signed a franchise agreement with Studio Pilates International and secured the location at 363 Village Square Lane, Unit 105 in Castle Pines on September 13, 2025.

Robin says her mission is to cultivate a balanced, athletic and real community. She and her team are “committed to providing a fiercely effective workout experience so individuals discover their physical potential and enhance their overall well-being both on and off the reformer.” Classes are dynamic and upbeat, with transitions to challenge you and take your endurance to the next level. With a team of four sales associates and nine instructors, including herself, classes focus on strength, flexibility and endurance. Becky Peterson, one of the instructors, is also featured in this month’s Neighbors to Know on page 12 of The Connection newspaper.

Common misconceptions about Pilates are that it is only for women and already-fit individuals. According to Robin, Studio Pilates Castle Pines welcomes a wide range of participants, including couples, mother-daughter duos, men, older adults, and those brand new to exercise. Referrals from chiropractors and physical therapists regularly introduce new enthusiasts to the studio’s classes.

Each class incorporates video technology, allowing students to visually follow movements alongside hands-on instruction. With class sizes limited to just 16 students, instructors are able to modify exercises for injuries, varying skill levels, and individual needs, ensuring a safe and supportive experience for everyone.

Studio Pilates welcomes any age and fitness level for any class, though all students must attend an orientation workout that addresses what to expect and teaches proper use of the reformers and correct breathing.

Studio Pilates offers classes seven days a week and emphasizes connection, community and cheering each other on. Studio Pilates does not require a contract or membership, although they do offer multi-session passes.
