Superintendent shares lessons in leadership

Douglas County School District (DCSD) Superintendent Erin Kane spoke last month to the Leadership Douglas County class of 2026. Kane shared her journey to the top, her leadership principles and discussed the challenges and successes of overseeing the third largest school district in Colorado.
DCSD has 92 schools, employs more than 7,600 staff (including 3,600 teachers) and serves more than 62,000 students. DCSD is the top-performing district in the state of Colorado, according to the Colorado Department of Education.
