Airplane tracking at your fingertips

Information provided by the City of Castle Pines

Denver International Airport recently launched a new web site called WebTrak, which will allow Castle Pines residents to access information about flights taking off and landing from Centennial Airport, as well as Denver International Airport.

“It is a benefit to Centennial Airport, as personnel can track noisy flights and quickly get back to residents about noise concerns,” stated Castle Pines council member and board member of the Centennial Airport Community Noise Roundtable (CACNR), Maureen Shul. According to Shul, there are many features which make WebTrak extremely useful.

Aircraft are color coded on a map, which makes identifying what airport a plane is heading to or coming from much easier. A resident can place his/her home on the map by clicking on “address lookup.” This allows the user to determine exactly how far an aircraft was from a home. By clicking on a specific plane, users can get additional information about an individual aircraft, such as flight identification, aircraft type, origin, destination, height and speed.
