New salon brings waxing services to Castle Pines

By Lisa Crockett

“Wax It,” a salon specializing in hair removal, will soon open in Castle Pines with an eye toward good value and efficient service. Owner Christine Kemmer and her partner Omar Velayudhan plan to celebrate the grand opening of the salon, which is located in the Village Square shopping center, on April 8.

“We do all services on a walk-in basis,” said Kemmer. “You never need an appointment and we pride ourselves on being able to perform our services quickly; most services take 30 minutes or less.”

The salon is a second location for Kemmer, who opened the first “Wax It” in Grand Junction five years ago. Kemmer and Velayudhan decided on the Village Square location based on its similarity to the successful Grand Junction location, and its proximity to other business that are aimed at providing services for women.

“We have an all female staff, and are very female-oriented,” said Kemmer. “We think that being near Salon 188 and Younique Expressions Wine Bar will be a good fit.”

Kemmer said another defining feature of the salon is a focus on making the waxing process as painless as possible.

“We use a special wax that grips the hair more, and the skin less,” said Kemmer. “We’ve worked hard to perfect our technique and spend time training our wax specialists how to make the waxing process comfortable.”

Wax It is located at 363 Village Square Lane, Suite #110. For more information about Wax It, visit www.doyouwaxit.com.
