Douglas County nonprofit helping our military

Parker-based SECOR Cares brought its mobile free food market to Buckley Space Force Base and provided food for troops during the government shutdown last month.
A food pantry that supports military families on Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora saw a large increase in the amount of food leaving its shelves last month. Struggling to keep up with demand, Buckley reached out to Douglas County nonprofit SECOR Cares, who brought its mobile food truck to the base at no cost. The food helped more than 200 members of the Colorado Guard and their families who had gone without pay due to the lapse in federal funding.
SECOR Cares’ mission is, “Caring for people faced with suburban poverty, restoring hope and dignity, and guiding them toward a self-sufficient life.”
