Kindergarten registration is open
Kindergarten registration for the Douglas County School District (DCSD) 2026-2027 school year opened November 3. Eligible incoming students must turn 5 on or before October 1, 2026.
Registration for Buffalo Ridge Elementary and Timber Trail Elementary can be completed online using the DCSD QR code or at dcsdk12.org/kindergarten.
Required documents include proof of residency, parent government ID, child’s birth certificate and child’s immunization record.
DCSD Early Childhood Preschool students enrolled by January 1, 2026 will automatically be enrolled in their neighborhood school. These families do not need to go through admissions again.
DCS Montessori participates in the DCSD open enrollment program. Second round open enrollment for kindergarten through eighth grades will open on January 22, 2026, and close on August 3, 2026. Open enrollment information can be accessed through the DCSD QR code. Additionally, detailed enrollment information can be found under Admissions at the top of the home page at dcsmontessori.org.
The American Academy enrollment lottery will take place on Friday, December 5. Families can enroll students up to 11:59 p.m. on December 4 to be included in the lottery. Detailed enrollment information can be found under Enrollment at the top of the home page at aak8.org.
