Participation requested in hazardous mitigation survey

The 2026 Douglas County Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) is underway, and the County is asking residents to take a survey to help identify safety issues and potential problems in our area, specific to homes and property.
The HMP identifies and evaluates risks and vulnerabilities associated with hazards and resulting disasters and leads to development of long-term strategies to reduce risk and potential impact of hazards.
Some of the examples of hazards on the 27-question survey are flooding, hail, heavy snow, high wind, ice storm and wildfire.
The deadline for the HMP survey is December 31. To take survey, visit douglas.co.us and search “Hazard Mitigation Plan.” Then scroll to bottom and click on “Douglas County Public Survey.”
