Roundabout at Buffalo Trail and Monarch Boulevard coming soon
During the June 24 City of Castle Pines City Council meeting, Council approved the addition of a roundabout at the intersection of Buffalo Trail and Monarch Boulevard. This addition will be completed as part of the ongoing 2025 Monarch Boulevard reconstruction project. The addition of the roundabout will:
- Improve the ability to make a left turn from Buffalo Trail to northbound Monarch Boulevard
- Provide safer crossings for pedestrians
- Improve safety by naturally reducing traffic speeds
Building the roundabout as a part of the ongoing construction project also reduces future construction costs by replacing the intersection pavement at the same time as the current project.
Access on Monarch Boulevard will be maintained during the construction of the roundabout portion of the project. The project remains on schedule for completion in September, but stay tuned for traffic lane shifts and other updates. Visit castlepinesco.gov/monarch for more information.
