Sassy Soiree fundraiser

The Douglas/Elbert Task Force’s (D/ETF) 11th annual Sassy Soiree fundraiser will be held on Friday, September 12 at the Douglas County Events Center in Castle Rock.
Sassy Soiree includes a luncheon, runway fashion show, silent and live auctions, and boutique shopping. This lively mid-day charity event benefits the emergency services provided by the D/ETF, a non-profit agency serving Douglas and Elbert County residents in financial crisis.
The fashion show highlights new and gently used designer and high-quality fashions from Treasures on Park Street, the D/ETF thrift store. Tickets are $45 per person, in advance. Reserved tables of eight are $400. Ticket sales run through September 5, and no tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets may be charged over the telephone or purchased at Treasures on Park Street, 1638 Park Street in Castle Rock.
Doors open at 10 a.m. for boutique shopping and the silent auction, 11:30 a.m. lunch service, noon fashion show and live auction; and additional shopping from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Emcees Jayson Luber and Lisa Hidalgo from Channel 7 News will provide runway commentary for nine models, including crowd favorite Bella DeVita, 90, who has appeared on the runway at every Sassy Soiree.
“Our fashions and jewelry are always remarkable,” said Suzanne Greene, executive director of the D/ETF. “This year they include a spectacular vintage Doncaster suit—like something from Mad Men—with accessories from Jimmy Choo, Coach, Orla Kiely and lots more. It’s a bargain shopper’s paradise!” she said.
The Silent Auction has more than 125 items, including gift baskets with food and drink, home décor, restaurant and event certificates, golf foursomes, personal services, one-of-a-kind artwork and travel treats. The live auction includes a Sanctuary golf foursome, an African Safari, and “A Taste of Tactics” for four at the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Facility.
The D/ETF provides food, clothing, rental, utilities, and other assistance to those in need. In 2013, the Task Force provided more than $1,107,000 in emergency services to 14,740 people in Douglas and Elbert counties.
