Building legacies in the community

It was Good Friday 1993 in a church in Pompano Beach, Florida, when Rick Egitto decided to approach beautiful Cindy, who was helping an elderly gentleman with his hymn book. The story varies on who saw whom first, but the two learned they worked near each other, and their romance began. The couple married on the same day as their first date, three years later. With both having roots in Colorado and always wanting to return, a serendipitous work opportunity gave Rick and Cindy the reason to make their way back. The couple has lived in The Village at Castle Pines for 25 years.
Cindy found their house on the first day of looking. “It is just a feeling that you get when you walk into a home and you know this is where we are going to be now,” Cindy reflected.
Rick has been in commercial real estate (CRE) for more than 40 years. He has been involved in many projects in Lone Tree, Parker and Castle Rock, building his legacy in the complex field of land planning, zoning, development and commercial sales and leasing. Rick shared, “It’s fun when you can put your imprint on a community.”
Rick worked for some of the best CRE firms in the United States but wanted to branch out on his own. “I took the leap and bet on myself when I formed CRE Solutions in 2024,” he added. Cindy encouraged him as she is no stranger to starting her own businesses.
Cindy said, “I worked in Colorado Springs in the restaurant business and went back to school at 30 and got a design degree.” Cindy worked in floral design, started a boutique gift business and then pivoted to starting her own landscaping company seven years ago. Her company, Creative Color Concepts, creates gardens for homeowners and some local HOAs.
Cindy shared, “I want to leave something behind when I go. That’s why I love to do gardens and see how they grow and how happy it makes people. Those trees, bushes and flowers; they are going to be my legacy.”
When the Egittos are not working, they attend concerts and travel as time allows with their busy schedules. They have a trip planned for early next year to Fiji, New Zealand and Australia.
