City approves Canyonside application

The City of Castle Pines City Council (City) recently voted 6-1 to approve an application to subdivide parcels of land in the Canyons development area. The property, located east of S. Havana Street and north of Castle Pines Parkway, now consists of three new mixed-use lots, two new tracts and dedicated right-of-way for the S. Havana Street realignment.

“The realignment of S. Havana Street will create a more efficient road layout for the future mixed-use area by reducing the number of intersections on Castle Pines Parkway,” said Donna Ferguson, the City’s community development director. “The realignment will be constructed and paid for by the developer as a part of its investment in the community as well as with contributions from Douglas County.”

Any future development on the site will need to submit a site improvement plan application to the City and receive approval from the Planning Commission before beginning construction.
