Community club collects donations

Members of the Village Castle Pines Garden club filling the Help & Hope truck with donations.

The Village Castle Pines Garden Club (Garden Club) hosted a donation drive on Saturday, June 28. The group collected more than 3,000 items—gently used clothes, household goods and toiletries—for Help & Hope Center, one of the philanthropies that the Garden Club supports.

The collection of items will be distributed to families and individuals facing hardship in Douglas and Elbert Counties.

“The day was blazing hot but we welcomed donors with gusto,” stated Garden Club President Liane Mair. “Boxes and bags were heaved into the waiting Help & Hope truck amid smiles and laughter from Club members.”
