Countrywide Mortgage Closes in CPN

The shrinking national mortgage market has hit a Castle Pines North (CPN) business. The Countrywide Financial Home Mortgage office in the Safeway shopping center has closed its doors.
“Countrywide is getting smaller in general,” said sales manager Steve Caughlin. “Our lease was up at the Castle Pines North location, and we’ve consolidated with our Castle Rock office.” Nationwide, about 500 Countrywide employees have lost their jobs.
