Donation drive

Spring is in the air and the Village Castle Pines Garden Club (VCPGC) is busy planning activities for the summer. The club enjoys social activities, gardening together, educational programs and holding charitable fundraiser events for the community.

The upcoming June 28 donation drive benefits the Help & Hope Center (H&H) in Castle Rock, which supports Douglas and Elbert County residents in financial distress, helping them navigate difficult times with dignity. As a 501(c)(3), the VCPGC can provide tax receipts, if requested.

This year, the donation drive is larger in scope than previous years and will include, for the first time, gently used clothing items for the H&H thrift store, Treasures Thriftique. The collection location for items will be the Village Shoppes entrance on June 28 between 9 a.m. and noon. The VCPGC ladies will be waiting to wave you in.

Requested donations include gently used clothing (for men, women and children), toiletries, diapers, household goods and non-perishable food. Some items cannot be accepted, including appliances, furniture, TVs, computers and car seats (see related electronics recycling article page 7).

Monetary donations in the form of cash, check or Zelle will also be accepted and much appreciated. Email committee chair Mary Murray at mmurray2210@gmail.com or call 303-870-7920 for more information.
