Hold on for one more day

On September 18, the Mission Ballroom in Denver was host to the Pepper ‘Em with Love Gala benefiting Pepper’s Senior Dog Sanctuary (PSDS). A Littleton-based nonprofit, PSDS is a compassionate home where elderly dogs are cared for during their good days, bad days and last days.
Nearly 450 attendees gathered for the fundraiser which raised $470,000. Erica Lopez, 9NEWS anchor and reporter, was the emcee. Dog lovers Wendy Wilson and Chynna Phillips from the band Wilson Phillips provided the entertainment.
(Carnie Wilson was not able to attend.)
Actor, producer and writer Billy Baldwin walked the red carpet, doing interviews and posing with patrons for photos. Guests were gifted handcrafted bracelets made by Jo Klein from Firefly Autism, a community partner and volunteer at PSDS. Senior dogs from the sanctuary were standing by for petting and guests could sit for heart-themed face painting (a heart is part of the PSDS logo.)
After dinner and auctions, the night closed with Wilson Phillips’ best hits, including a compilation of ‘90s covers from other girl bands – The Bangles, Spice Girls and TLC.
PSDS provides services from quarantine to mobility-friendly play places for senior dogs who are not adopted. In addition to 230 volunteers, PSDS has an onsite, veterinarian-supervised team with specialty training in rehabilitation and hospice care.
