Teachers selected for Complete the Classroom
August meant back to school, and The Castle Pines Connection partnered with local businesses, nonprofits and neighbors to help teachers from our six community feeder schools to Complete the Classroom through financial support and classroom supplies.
We received very compelling nominations from the community and are pleased to congratulate the following teachers for being selected:
American Academy – Caitlynn Birkmeier (first grade)
Buffalo Ridge Elementary – Hallie Burke (fourth grade)
DCS Montessori – Jessica Bunch (seventh grade)
Rock Canyon High School – Janna Robinett (business department
Rocky Heights Middle School – Geoff Whitesell (drama department)
Timber Trail Elementary – Jennifer
Di Capo (significant support needs “SSN” teacher).
In the next few weeks, The Connection will visit the winning teachers and present them each with a $600 check for supplies for their classrooms, as well as some other fun surprises! Special thanks to the Douglas County Libraries Foundation for donating $100 worth of books to each winning classroom; to Lowe’s Castle Rock for putting together some terrific supply buckets for our winners; to Minuteman Press Castle Rock for supplying the giant checks and $100 worth of complimentary printing services to every teacher; to Chick-fil-A for providing each of our winning teachers with a meal card and swag; and to Crumbl Cookies for supplying sweet treats to each of the classrooms.
This was all made possible thanks to generous contributions from you, our readers, as well as some of our business partners. Thank you to AdventHealth Castle Rock, Tammy Lopez – Allstate Insurance, Kraemer North America, the City of Castle Pines, Botti Legal, Payroll Vault – Castle Rock, Brownstone Renovation, and Nick Ainsworth – State Farm Insurance.
Look for photos of our classroom visits in the December issue. Congratulations to all!
