The Elevated Edit – March 2026

Dear Reader,
You know I adore a party! So, this month I thought we would chat about the two most important people who make the party, the throwers and the goers.
Throwers concern themselves with details like setting the table, getting out the best dishes, making a seating chart, and placing cards for each guest that are carefully thought out. The golden rule of dinner party seating says your job as a host is to spark conversation. This is why spouses should be seated apart. A party is an opportunity to meet and enjoy other people.
Next up, let us consider a menu, something that is already in our rotation; easy and comforting for both hostess and guest. You don’t have to cook everything yourself and you don’t have to nail every detail, opening your home to those you care about is a gift. And setting the mood: Ina Garten (The Barefoot Contessa) says it is not a party without music. Don’t know what to play? Put on a classic like The Beatles.
And how about you goers? You are the ones who show up with an adorable attitude, warmth, energy and all the good stories. The goers are often the ones you could not imagine a party without. These are the folks you may check for availability before you plan the date of the party.
According to the late Wallis Simpson (The Duchess of Windsor) regarding the responsibilities of a party guest, “If you accept a dinner invitation, you have a moral obligation to be amusing.” The best party goers are both lively and charming.
Both folks are essential for a good party where the guests enjoy themselves and the party feels easy and fun.
So, here’s to the life of the party! Whether you are a thrower or a goer, I salute you.
Keep gathering.
Big Love,
Mrs. A
