The BRE Family Stampede kicked off the Family Night events at Buffalo Ridge Elementary (BRE) with a huge success.

Families gathered at the school where an inflatable old west corral was in place, complete with a bungee bull and calf roping. Kids also raced against the clock in the obstacle course and raced against each other on the dual slide.

As part of a reading incentive, students had the opportunity to put teachers and staff members in a dunk tank and for three throws for a dollar students could dunk a teacher.

There was cotton candy and snow cones and what school carnival would be complete without a cakewalk, or at this carnival a dessert walk.

For families, or maybe parents, looking for a dinner of something other than sweets vendors were on site. Little Italy was selling pizza slices and Red Umbrella featured hot dogs and hamburgers.

“My vision with a school carnival was to bring people together for an inexpensive fun night. Many thanks to all the volunteers who made the BRE Stampede a huge success,” said Lesley Gibson, Buffalo Ridge Education Alliance (BREA) Committee Chair.

Family nights at BRE were designed by the BREA to help foster a sense of community within the school.
