Behind the scenes with the DCSO
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office invites citizens to participate in the 2026 Community Academy. The academy has been redesigned to offer 38 hours of unique opportunities, built upon the principles of community-oriented policing, partnerships, and problem solving, and to provide attendees with a intimate look at the Sheriff’s Office.
The annual academy is held at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, 4000 Justice Way in Castle Rock, and the Highlands Ranch Sub Station, 9250 Zotos Drive in Highlands Ranch.
Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., September 15 through October 15 (and one Saturday). Registration is required; must be 18 years or older. For details, visit dcsheriff.net/community/community-academy.
