May the Fourth Be with You
Douglas County Libraries presents “May the Fourth Be with You,” a celebration of all things Star Wars, Saturday, May 4, at the Douglas County Events Center, located at 500 Fairgrounds Drive in Castle Rock.
The day begins at 10 a.m. with a demonstration by pop-up artist Matthew Reinhart. Reinhart’s pop-up books include “Mommy?,” co-authored by Maurice Sendak, and “Brava Strega Nona,” with Tomie DePaola. His solo projects include “Animal Popposites,” “The Jungle Book,” “Cinderella,” and “Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy.” Reinhart will do a second demonstration at 1 p.m., and will sign books for young fans after each demonstration. Books will be available for sale at the event.
Other events include crafts, snacks, photo opportunities with Star Wars characters and an 11:15 a.m. Radio Disney show. The event concludes at 3 p.m.
