Nonprofit partners helping pave the way

Douglas County Community Foundation (DCCF) joined forces with the Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA) in May to recognize local students and award financial scholarships for their academic achievements, volunteerism and commitment to community involvement.

DCCF contributed $32,000 in funding, allowing HRCA to award 13 additional scholarships to local students pursuing higher education opportunities, two of whom are Castle Pines residents and graduates of Rock Canyon High School, Evelyn Razem and Garrett Matuszewski.

“It was an honor to be recognized for this award by such a great community!” exclaimed Garrett. “I look forward to spending time sharing my experiences with fellow future classmates and hope to expand the strength of community in all areas of my life moving forward.”
