The Animal Care Center of Castle Pines recently made a large expansion to its facility as well as its services. In addition to offering full veterinary services, it now also offers a state of the art facility called the Animal Recreation Center and Spa, which provides rehabilitation for dogs as well as recreational exercise.

Its previous office space of 3,000 square feet in the Safeway shopping center expanded to 8,000 square feet, providing three additional exam rooms, new rehab rooms, a grooming area, and a dog daycare area with a full-time trainer on staff. Daycare visitors get play time and swim sessions every day.

The cornerstone of the rehab expansion is the new, state of the art, oval shaped current pool which has a triple redundant filtration system so very little chlorine is needed. There is also an underwater treadmill to help dogs who have been injured, post surgical dogs with limited weight bearing ability, small dogs that need a little more exercise, and to increase speed and agility for athletic dogs.

Dr. Cheryl Adams, a new member to the team, is a licensed veterinarian as well as being trained in acupuncture, chiropractic medicine, Chinese medicine, and advanced medicine, which includes stem cell therapy. Adams gives patients the best of both Eastern and Western medicine as treatment options.

One of Adams’ current patients is Franktown resident, Benji, who was found alongside the Boulder Turnpike by new owner Jenn Dailey last month. With brain trauma, among other injuries, Benji was only able to walk in circles. Adams put Benji on a treatment regimen which included acupuncture, a special diet, exercises, and vibration therapy from a toothbrush to help stimulate muscle response. Dailey says, “Dr. Adams has been a Godsend! Benji has made amazing progress!”

Business owner Jonathan James commented, “We strive to give the best care at the most affordable rates. We have very high quality infrastructure and equipment. We have the best current pool within 500 miles!” To find out more about the Animal Care Center and The Animal Recreation Center and Spa, visit their website at www.animalcarecenterofcastlerock.com.
