In April, the community partnered with the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Douglas County to participate in the Giving Tree Food Drive.

Volunteers in Castle Pines staffed a donation station at King Soopers and collected 488 pounds of food and $394 in cash and gift cards.

In addition, there were three other donation stations in Douglas County – Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree and Castle Rock. Collectively, the Giving Tree Food Drive resulted in 2,845 pounds of food and $2,400 in cash and gift cards, which went directly to the Douglas/Elbert Task Force.
