Rocky Heights Back to School

by Carin R. Kirkegaard

Rocky Heights Middle School heads back to school August 14 and is looking forward to a year of learning. At Rocky Heights, “the primary objective of student achievement requires community involvement, parent participation and a culture of high expectations,” said Principal Patricia Dierberger.

Doors for the first day of school open August 14 with half-day classes for both the sixth and seventh grade. The sixth graders will attend school from 7:55 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The seventh graders will attend the second half of the day from 12:30 p.m. until 3:07 p.m. Buses will be running throughout the day. Regular full-day classes will begin August 15 for grades sixth through eighth.

Mark the calendar for these important Rocky Heights events: August 15 and 17 the school will host back to school nights for parents to have the opportunity to see the school and meet teachers. On August 31 at 7 p.m., the Parent Community Alliance (PCA) will hold a meeting. Parents are invited to attend and learn about school activities impacting the families of Rocky Heights. Save the date for the Second Annual Nighthawk Night being held November 4. This event is a silent auction fundraiser for the school.
