Garden Club lends a hand
Jim Kelly and Mary Murray collected two carloads of donations to deliver to Help & Hope Center.
The Village at Castle Pines Garden Club’s (Garden Club) successful Help & Hope Center (H&H) donation drive was held in July. Community generosity continued with an additional donation opportunity one week later. Volunteers from the Garden Club’s community outreach committee, led by Chair Mary Murray, collected two more carloads of donations and delivered them to H&H.
The two collection efforts generated 2,500 pounds of household goods and clothing, 324 pounds of toiletries and food items, and $1,230 in cash donations.
Mary and volunteer Jim Kelly delivered the additional donations to H&H, where Program Director Carrie Abramowitz expressed heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming community support. She noted that these contributions will provide comfort, dignity and essential resources to individuals and families experiencing difficult circumstances.
“The success of the drive reflects the generosity of Garden Club members and the surrounding community, demonstrating how neighbors can make a meaningful difference when they come together to support those in need,” stated Liane Mair, Garden Club president.
Founded in 1984, H&H is a nonprofit human services organization in Castle Rock offering emergency assistance to residents in Douglas and Elbert Counties. For more information, visit helpandhopecenter.org.
