The Collective celebrates one-year anniversary
On September 16, The Castle Rock Collective celebrated its one-year anniversary with a celebration open to the community. Located at 207 Perry Street in downtown Castle Rock, The Collective is a partnership between Wellspring Community and World Orphans – two organizations whose missions are centered around empowerment. This unique marketplace is transforming lives both locally and globally through World Orphans’ economic empowerment program and Wellspring’s employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
Over the course of the past year, adults with I/DD have thrived working as baristas by gaining transferable job skills, accomplishing their goals, and fostering connections with the community – all while crafting some of the best coffee in Castle Rock. This anniversary party celebrated the accomplishments of the baristas, the work of the volunteers, the artisans of World Orphans, and the community of Castle Rock for coming alongside us on this wonderful journey.
