2014 was a pivotal year for Castle Pines resident Tod Baker.  Baker had worked for more than 20 years in the healthcare industry, and he took a leap of faith and started his own business in which he would provide a better solution for physicians and hospitals to improve performance.  Baker’s company MDValuate has been very successful and in February his company was recognized by Governor Hickenlooper and other Colorado leaders at the Innovation Pavilion’s inaugural Innovation Awards.

MDValuate’s product is designed to help physicians improve their performance from a quality, service and financial standpoint.  Baker explained, “The healthcare industry is moving to pay for the value of care versus the volume of care and physicians are central to all quality, service and financial success of any hospital or group practice.  Our technology helps identify the opportunities to improve performance and helps them improve.  This will raise the bar of performance for each doctor, resulting in better outcomes, improved service, and lower costs for patients.”

The Innovation Awards granted recognition to Colorado entrepreneurs in five different categories, and MDValuate was pleased to take home the honors for the Digital Health Innovation Award.  “Honestly I was surprised,” stated Baker after winning.  “The other companies nominated are also doing some amazing things in digital healthcare.  Most people do not know but the Colorado front-range is a hotbed for digital health innovation.  There are 125 digital health companies that are operating in this area.  Many of the healthcare challenges this country faces will be solved in our state.  Being nominated, let alone winning among these brilliant companies, is a tremendous honor.  We have the best team in the industry and they deserve the recognition.”

Baker is a Colorado native who lives in Charter Oaks with his wife and two kids and he is proud to live and work in his home state.  “The Castle Pines community is the best place to raise a family and enjoy life in the entire country.  The climate, the economy and the optimistic Colorado outlook make this hands-down the best place to live in the country.”
