Roll up your sleeves at the annual 9Health Fair

By Elean Gersack

It is time to roll up your sleeves and get checked at the 9Health Fair.  For 36 years, this volunteer driven nonprofit has impacted more than two million lives with blood chemistry and other health screening programs.  It is easy and convenient to take charge of your health by making plans to visit one of the four Douglas County venues hosting the 9Health Fair this month.  Fasting for the blood draw is optional.

Douglas County Location Sites:

Castle Rock Adventist Health Campus: Saturday, April 8, from 8 a.m. to noon
Eastridge Recreation Center: Saturday, April 29, from 7 a.m. to noon
Sky Ridge Medical Center: Saturday, April 29, from 7 a.m. to noon
Parker Adventist Hospital: Sunday, April 30, from 8 a.m. to noon

Testosterone and B12 screenings are new this year at all 9Health Fair locations.  Testosterone levels can affect the brain, bone and muscle mass, fat distribution, vascular system, energy levels, genital tissues, and sexual functions. The cost for the screening is $35 for men and $45 for women.  Vitamin B12 is instrumental in normal functioning of the brain and nervous system and the formation of red blood cells.  For 2017 only, the B12 screening (a $20 value) is free with the purchase of any other screening.

“We’re thrilled to expand our offerings, and make these important health screenings accessible to our participants.  We’re proud to provide health and wellness education and resources that Coloradans can trust,” explained Gary Drews, CEO of the 9Health Fair.

All sites will offer a blood chemistry draw for $35, which provides baseline information for cholesterol, glucose, thyroid, kidney, liver and more.  Many additional screenings are available at each site.
