Boulevard Pizza Kitchen

A taste of… Boulevard Pizza Kitchen

By Liane Marette Davis

With over 30 years of being in the pizza business, Pullie and Kari Lusha brought their love for pizza and people to Castle Rock.   Thank you Boulevard Pizza Kitchen, we needed you!  Pullie was born in New York where his father had a pizza restaurant.  His father decided to move the family to Texas in the late 80’s and opened Joe’s Pizza in the Dallas and Houston area.  Pullie knew he always wanted to open his own business and Castle Rock was the perfect location to start.

Boulevard Pizza Kitchen had their one year anniversary in March.  They celebrated by teaming with Douglas County Sheriff Department and raised nearly $3,000.   The deputies waited tables and those donations were given to the charity of their choice, St Baldricks Foundation (for child cancer research, a volunteer driven charity).  “We are certainly quality driven and we love the interaction with our customers.  A large part of our business is relationship building, with the community and with our customers,” said Kari Lusha.

As we know, most pizza shops use premade dough and sauce, as well as store bought dressing, not Boulevard.  , They make their marinara the old-fashion way, homemade red wine vinaigrette salad dressing, blend their own pizza sauce and roll the dough balls by hand.  Come in and you can watch the pizza man do all the rest.  The King of New York pizza is tasty with toppings of hamburger, sausage pepperoni and Canadian bacon or the Mile High pizza with hamburger, green pepper, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and basil.  They have an array of topping choices and offer pizza by the slice.  For appetizers, start with a spinach or pepperoni pinwheel or the buttery mouth-watering garlic knots all handmade and definitely irresistible.  They also have a wide variety of Italian foods such as salads, subs, calzones, pastas, and entrees.

Try a hot sub like the Meatball Parmigiana or Chicken Cheesesteak (the classic but with chicken instead).  A couple of cold subs to try the Salami and Provolone or the Super Sub which includes salami, provolone, ham loaded into one sub.  The pastas and entrees are scrumptious with The Chicken Parmigiana being a favorite among guests or the Spinach Rollantini, (a family favorite) with ricotta, sharp cheddar, parmesan, spinach and green onions all blended together and rolled up in lasagna noodles topped with marinara.  This family owned restaurant is kid friendly offering choices of spaghetti, noodles, ravioli or chicken fingers all served with a drink.  You can enjoy a glass of wine or Colorado Native beer and on the patio or inside.   Don’t forget the cannoli or cheesecake.

Whatever you chose to order you will be satisfied.  Their friendly staff, great service and delightful cuisine will keep you coming back.  Boulevard Pizza Kitchen is located at 78 East Allen Street, #104 in Castle Rock. Hours of operation: Tuesday thru Thursday 11am to 9pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 10pm, Sunday 11am to 9pm, and closed on Mondays.   For more information about carry out, catering, or menu items, please visit their web site at www.blvdpizza.com or call 303-660-6458.  Join them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/blvdpizza or follow them on Twitter at www.twitter.com/blvdpizzaco.
