For Chad and Chris Spears, life in the Timberline neighborhood is a blend of community connection, fitness and the joyful chaos of raising three young children. Since building their house in 2021, the family has quickly made themselves at home, enjoying the privacy of their surroundings, while appreciating the convenient access to nearby amenities in Castle Pines as well as Lone Tree and Castle Rock.
Chad and Chris are the proud parents of 3-year-old twin boys, Luca and Liam, and a daughter, Logan, who is nearly 1. They share their home with a trio of well-loved dogs: Shiner, a 16-year-old Weimaraner; Charlie, a 7-year-old Australian Labradoodle and Cooper, a 6-year-old miniature Australian shepherd.
Chad, who grew up in northern Idaho, has lived in Colorado for 20 years, while Chris made his way from Texas in 2018. Chad and Chris met at a dinner party, and were married in 2021, celebrating with a wedding ceremony in Riviera Maya, Mexico, the following year.
Chad works as a management consultant, specializing in talent management and organizational design for large technology companies. Chris, who previously worked in IT for the Department of Defense at Fort Carson, now balances his time between caring for the children and co-running the family-owned, strength training gym. “Our passion for health and fitness led us to open Discover Strength in Parker,” said Chad. There are plans to open a new location in Castle Rock within the year.
Health and fitness are not just a business for Chad and Chris; it is a passion and lifestyle rooted in their collegiate athletic backgrounds. Chad played volleyball at the University of Idaho, and Chris was a tennis player at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Their competitive spirit remains strong today. Chris is a skilled pickleball player, and Chad is the boys varsity volleyball coach at Castle View High School, where the team recently secured a fifth-place finish at the state championship tournament.
Weekends are reserved for family time and activities. Whether it is soccer practice, swimming lessons for the twins, visiting local parks, hitting the walking trails or the hiking opportunities in the area, the family thrives on staying active. They also prioritize time with extended family, frequently traveling to visit grandparents in San Antonio and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Chad and Chris also have some great support closer to home. Chad’s parents have a second home in Castle Rock and visit for two weeks every month to help out with their grandchildren.
The Spears said that the balance of a peaceful, family-friendly neighborhood and a commitment to health, growth and community makes them feel they are where they belong. “We love it here,” said Chad.
