An August ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Lone Tree Arts Center celebrated the grand opening of the new facility. On September 3 and 4, the Center will open its doors to the public from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. for tours and entertainment, and the regular season begins on September 9. The Lone Tree Arts Center, a new state-of-the-art facility that includes three theaters, gallery space and an entrance plaza, has begun its first season.  In August, the occasion was marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a black-tie, invitation-only Grand Opening Gala featuring Tony-Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell.

On September 3 and 4 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., the Arts Center will open its doors for tours, performances and even a visit from Radio Disney.

“Labor Day weekend we’ll have a Grand Opening Community Open House,” said Lisa Rigsby Peterson, the Arts Center’s executive director. “We invite you to take a look at the full season announcement and consider becoming a season ticket holder – first class entertainment is around the corner for you.”

The first public performance takes place on September 9, Adam and Anthony Live starring the original Broadway stars of RENT, Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp, in concert.  Highlights of the inaugural season include critically-acclaimed New York indy-music trio GrooveLily, The Tartan Terrors, Spencers Theatre of Illusion and the award-winning Arvada Center, Creede Repertory Theatre, Opera Colorado and Stories on Stage.

In addition to the “Lone Tree Presents” season, the Arts Center will also be the home of the “Lone Tree Hosts” series featuring the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra.

The new center is opening after a long campaign of fundraising, which has included some high-profile donations from various community and business groups.  In January, Park Meadows Retail Resort made a lead gift of $25,000 towards a successful $200,000 challenge campaign issued by the Lone Tree City Council to benefit the Center’s Terrace Theater.

“Park Meadows has always supported projects and organizations that add to the quality of life for Colorado families.

We are honored to be part of the Lone Tree Cultural Arts Center,” said Senior General Manager Pamela Schenk-Kelly. “The Arts Center and Terrace Theatre will bring so much to the South Metropolitan Denver area for all of us to enjoy, from the young family to the more seasoned art enthusiast.”

Through donations from many individuals and companies, the entire challenge from the City of Lone Tree has been realized, and  $400,000 has been donated.  The capital campaign for the center is still ongoing, and naming opportunities exist.

Information and tickets are available at www.LoneTreeArtsCenter.com or 720-509-1000.  The new box office in the lobby is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A class act around the corner – professional performances just three exits north of Castle Pines, the Lone Tree Arts Center is located at 10075 Commons Street in Lone Tree.
