Rock Canyon High School (RCHS) cheer and poms teams each took first
place in the continental league, one of the strongest leagues in the
state. The girls won in every division they were entered, bringing home
six league titles in freshman poms, junior varsity poms, varsity jazz,
freshman cheer, junior varsity cheer and varsity all-girl cheer.

Poms coach Christina Leone said, “All three RCHS poms teams have
set their goals high but most importantly are enjoying the journey.
This year’s varsity is a young team, but they have proven that ‘attitude
is everything,’ overcoming every obstacle by focusing on the positive.”

This is the first time both cheer and poms have won the league
title, and the first time they have won in all three divisions. Next up
for both varsity teams is the state championships on December 6. The
junior varsity and freshman teams will compete at the invitational on
December 14. The varsity poms team was also selected to dance at the
December 12 Bronco game.

Varsity cheer coach Amanda Mundaca added, “The teams would love
everyone’s support! Many of the girls on each team are residents of
Castle Pines and their families are active in the Castle Pines
community.”
