Take lady luck out of the game; play duplicate bridge

Castle Rock Bridge Club Director, Curt Soloff, teaching a group of 49ers on Tuesday, May 24.

Do you want to learn how to play bridge? Are you in the market for a bridge club? Well, look no further. The Castle Rock Bridge Club is looking to expand its membership and would love for some new faces to join them for some duplicate bridge.

The idea of duplicate bridge is to eliminate the luck factor involved in one side being dealt the better cards. Instead, the exact same hands are played more than once by different sets of players who start from the same position.

The Castle Rock Bridge Club plays an American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) sanctioned duplicate game every Monday and Tuesday at 1 pm at Plum Creek Plaza in Castle Rock (formerly Duke’s Restaurant).  The Monday game is open to any two partners playing without restrictions.  On Tuesdays is a “49er” game for anyone new to duplicate bridge or for those who have fewer than 50 master points.

All duplicate games are $5 per person. One-hour lessons are held every Tuesday at noon for $5, and two-hour lessons are offered on the fourth Monday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon for $10 per person.

For more information or for directions to the club, visit  www.castlerockbridge.com.
