9/11 Stair Climb at Red Rocks

The annual 9/11 Stair Climb at Red Rocks Amphitheater honors the lives of Americans lost on 9/11/2001.  After a few brief speeches, a moment of silence was observed and the Colorado Emerald Society Pipes and Drum Band played “Amazing Grace.”  The climb then began for the 2,000-plus attendees, which included firefighters from across the state and even the country, along with law enforcement, military, families and citizens.  The Fire Science class from Rock Canyon High School (top right photo) continued its annual tradition of joining as well.  Walking around the perimeter of the amphitheater a total of nine times equates to 110 stories, the height of the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers.
