The dirt has been moved, the striking rustic structure has been built, and the huge banner says it all: Cabela’s Incorporated, the World’s Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear, will celebrate the grand opening of its Lone Tree store on Thursday, August 15.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Cabela’s executives and special guests is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. and doors will open to the public at 11:00 a.m. The Lone Tree Cabela’s store is located in the new RidgeGate Commons development on the west side of I-25 at RidgeGate Parkway, just south of Lincoln Avenue. The weekend-long event will include visits from outdoor celebrities, family fun events, giveaways, and other activities.

The 110,000 square-foot Lone Tree Cabela’s store will employ close to 200 full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. The overall look for Cabela’s stores is designed to create an outdoor experience for customers. The new store’s exterior features log construction, stonework, wood siding, la arge glass storefront, and metal roofing. The store’s interior includes a gabled entry, fireplace, stylized mountain habitat with North American game animal mounts, gun library, bargain Cave, and fudge shop.

Cabela’s opened its Grand Junction store in 2010 and will be opening its new Thornton store on the same day as the Lone Tree store. Cabela’s is planning to add 16 more stores to its existing 44-store chain within the next two years.
