Castle Pines business owners doing their part

For the third year running, Chuck Lowen of Lowen Commercial Real Estate sponsored a blood drive in the commercial district of the City of Castle Pines to benefit The Children’s Hospital.

“I’ve been involved in organizing bood donations for about eight years now through other organizations, and this is my third year working with The Children’s Hospital,” said Lowen. “Now that I have grandkids, I like knowing the blood goes to benefit young children in need.”

According to Lowen, several Village Square business owners and employees participated in the drive, including: The Bundt Shoppe, Dukes Tavern and Steakhouse, Castle Pines Dental Care, The Castle Pines Connection, and Castle Pines Eye Care. Many of the pre-registered donors came from Lowen’s men’s group, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. A few others dropped in from around the community.

“This s the first time I have ever donated blood and I am very nervous,” said Erin Quinn, a waitress at Duke’s. “It is for a good cause though, so I am doing it.” Afterward Quinn said it was actually not that bad and that she would definitely try it again.

Lowen is planning another blood drive sometime in September. To be notified about the next drive, contact Chuck Lowen at 303-785-6510.
