Christmas tree recycling in Castle Rock

By Patte Smith

Christmas tree recycling can be found close to home until the end of January in Castle Rock. Trees may be dropped off at any time and will be accepted from December 26 through January 31.

Drop-off sites include Centennial Park, 22 North Gilbert Street; Fairgrounds Regional Park, 500 Fairgrounds Drive; Founders Park, 4671 Enderud Road; Metzler Ranch Park, 4175 Trail Boss Road; and Paintbrush Park, 3492 Meadows Boulevard. Additional drop-off sites are located in Parker and Highlands Ranch – check website for details.

Please remove all ornaments, lights, tinsel, garland, plastic wrap, tree stands, wire, rope, nails, etc. before bringing trees to be recycled.

Tree mulch will be available at the Metzler Ranch Park site from January 15 through March 31 or while supplies last; live trees with artificial snow sprayed on the branches cannot be mulched.

For more information, contact the Town of Castle Rock at 303-814-7444 or visit www.douglas.co.us/parksandtrails/christmas-tree-recycling-locations.
