City council meetings now more accessible

By Chris Bonham

In May, the Castle Pines City Council decided to have all future city council meetings recorded on video. This step makes it much easier for interested citizens to get updates on what’s happening in Castle Pines. Before the council made its decision to have meetings recorded, the only way for someone to get updates on the city council’s deliberations was to physically attend a meeting or to view the agenda and minutes posted on the city’s website.

Both the agenda and the minutes from meetings will continue to be posted on the website, along with a video and an MP3 audio file. The city’s website also offers an area where those who are interested can subscribe via RSS Feed to any of the above mediums. If one chooses this route, video and audio are delivered in the form of a podcast through iTunes. So far, only the two meetings from May are available for viewing (or listening).
