Weekly middle school karaoke night started off with a bang on September 17 at Dazbog Coffee in Castle Pines North (CPN). Boys and girls alike had a blast singing a barrage of musical favorites. Top pop hits from Taylor Swift and Katy Perry filled the air along with some old time favorites such as “Hey Jude” by the Beatles and “American Pie” by Don McLean.

Dazbog owner and the evening’s disc jockey, Geoff Newman, cranked up the tunes as the coffee shop was buzzing with teenage and tweenage excitement. Kids stayed busy between performances studying the karaoke binders containing the list of available tracks. The Dazbog staff kept the smoothies and hot chocolate flowing as the kids worked up a thirst belting out songs. Prizes including sunglasses and rubber bracelets were handed out for favorite performances.

As Dazbog server commented, “We had a little over 30 kids in and out during the night. It was very successful!” Rocky Heights Middle School student, McKinsey, simply stated, “It was a blast!”

Dazbog plans to continue the tradition on upcoming Friday nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, contact Dazbog Coffee at 720-733-6699.

A fun time was had by all at the first weekly middle school karaoke night hosted by Dazbog in CPN.
