Girls flag football scores

The RCHS girls flag football team wrapped up an impressive season this fall with a 10-5 record.

The Rock Canyon High School (RCHS) girls flag football team, led by Coach Jerome Price, wrapped up an impressive season this fall with a 10-5 record, earning the 10th seed in the playoff competition.

This is only the third team at RCHS since flag football was added to high school sports programs in Colorado and many of the players are multi-sport athletes. This year’s team, made up of 12 seniors, was ranked #10 in the state among 5A schools before playoffs.

“Our growth this season was evident from start to finish,” said assistant coach and Hidden Pointe resident Jessica Bird. “Last year, we went 4 and 10 and fell short of post season play. This season, the girls brought incredible athleticism, heart and determination to every game.”

During fall break, the RCHS team advanced to the second round of the playoffs where they faced Chaparral High School (Chap). Despite a brilliant effort by RCHS, Chap converted on a fourth down and goal to take the win.

“We are incredibly proud of this group’s effort and improvement,” concluded Jessica. “The foundation they have built will continue to strengthen RCHS flag football for years to come.”
