God’s Grace helping hands for Haiti

Lois Autterson (front left) went to Haiti with one other lady from God’s Grace Community Church in 2009. The kids in this picture were trying to teach Lois Haitian Creole. They are from a center called Tetkole (means “heads together” ) based in Jacmel. Tetkole is run by Verbo Jean Julien, a Haitian lawyer who has a passion for reuniting street kids with their families. He locates street kids, brings them in, feeds them, clothes them, provides their education, reconnects them with their relataives and counsels entire famiies to give them tools to remain together. Tetkole is one -hundred percent funded by The Haitian Timoun Foundation.

God’s Grace Community Church (GGCC) – loving God, loving people and serving the world.

God’s Grace is blessed to be in partnership with the Haitian Timoun Foundation (HTF). HTF focuses on creating an alternative future for the children of Haiti so that “All May Have Life!” HTF serves the poorest nation in the western hemisphere by educating and housing children and providing micro loans.

GGCC recently donated more than $6,500 to HTF to further its mission and to support the famiies that were affected by the earthquake. Monies were contributed from the church’s Christmas outreach and 10 percent of the offering from a Sunday worship service.

During the month of February, GGCC partnered with HTF and Project Cure to collect needed medical supplies as an additional support for earthquake victims. A Valentine for Haiti Benefit concert was hosted at GGCC on February 12. One hundred percent of the funds raised went directly to the people in Haiti.

In addition to supporting the foundation with fundraising efforts, GGCC has sent missionaries to Haiti and sponsors a child from Wings of Hope, a home that cares for severely disabled children.
