I-25 / C-DOT Traffic Advisory

Lane and ramp closures are in place this week as part of two widening projects on Interstate 25 in northern Douglas County.

Monday, January 26 – Thursday, January 29: Right land of southbound I-25 closed from Exit 191 (just south of RidgeGate Interchange – under construction) to Surrey Ridge (Exit 190) from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., for the removal and replacement of concrete barrier.

This is initial work for the widening of I-25 from three to four lanes between Lincoln Avenue and Founders/Meadows Parkway in Castle Rock. The project includes construction of a two-lane, 2 ½ mile frontage road, just east of I-25, connecting RidgeGate Parkway and Castle Pines Parkway. All work is scheduled for completion in September 2009.

Monday, January 26 – Thursday, January 29: Ramp closed from Plum Creek Parkway to southbound I-25 in Castle Rock between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., for installation of ramp lights and snow closure gate. Drivers can access southbound I-25 by taking the West I-25 Frontage Road south seven miles to the Tomah Road Interchange.

Reconstruction of the ramp is part of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) I-25/Plum Creek Parkway Interchange reconstruction project. It also includes widening northbound and southbound I-25 from two to three lanes between 5th Street and Douglas Lane. All work is scheduled for completion in December 2009.

Road conditions and CDOT construction information is available at the cotrip.org website or by calling 511 statewide.
